They are from Utah, U.S.A. They are formed from a iron meteorite impact; creating a splash over the sand. They have sand in the center and the coating is hematite.

How to tell whether a female Moqui versus a male Moqui? There are different definitions from different books. Here are some of them:
1. Skin - Smooth is female, Rugged is male.
2. Shape - Round is female, dish-like is male.
3. Shape - Indented Grooves is female, dish-like is male.
